NEWLAST ON MISSION IN EGYPT
Newlast – The Egyptian Mission to promote leather manufacturing development.
Newlast had the opportunity to participate at the Mission in Egypt, for the Industrial Collaboration in the “Leather Supply Chain”. The Mission took place in Cairo from 17th to 19th of October.
The event was organized by the Cairo’s Office of ICE (Italian Trade Agency) in collaboration with the Commercial Office of the Italian Embassy and AICS Agency (Agenzia Italiana Cooperazione allo Sviluppo). The goal was to promote Industrial collaboration between Italian and Egyptian companies, in order to support the development of Egyptian Leather Supply Chain.
The October 2021 Mission is part of the imminent step to build 100 factories for the finished product, as part of the third phase of the Robbiki Leather City project, dedicated to the manufacturing industry. Italy has played and still plays a leading role in the development of the Robbiki Leather City.
Both companies and Egyptian authorities, which oversee the development of the industry, expressed great interest in meeting with Italian Entrepreneurs to discuss possible technical and industrial collaborations with the aim of:
- develop production processes according to advanced technological standards,
- improve products quality level,
- acquire technology and know-how for collections creation and planning,
- improve employees training levels,
- acquire higher environmental sustainability standards.
